Valentine’s Day is typically the celebration of your love for others in your life. But did you ever
think that YOU are someone special in your life?
Why not take this time to reflect on how you can take better care of yourself? After all, you
can’t love someone else until your love yourself! You shouldn’t feel selfish or guilty about for
taking care of yourself.
We often end up giving a lot of ourselves to others. So much so that we may neglect our own
health and fitness goals and put them on that back burner. One reason may be that taking care
of ourselves may be seen as selfish. Self-care is NOT selfish…
Taking time to meal prep, hitting the gym or having meals and snacks with you shows discipline
and is helping you be the healthier. We want our kids, spouses, family members and friends to
have discipline and healthy habits yet if we exhibit them they are selfish?
When you are taking the time to manage your nutrition, workouts, sleep and stress you are a
happier, more upbeat, productive and positive person. Your loved ones sense this and are
grateful for the shift. Also, if you share with them the benefits maybe they will be inspired to
instill healthy habits in their own lives.
You are an inspiration for those around you. Your discipline and drive surrounding your health
and fitness can influence your kids, spouse, friends and coworkers.
Once in a while there may be a toxic person who makes you feel guilty for prioritizing yourself.
99% of the time this person is insecure and projecting their feelings on to you. Try hard to
focus on the benefits of self-care along with all those you are inspiring rather than this one
Self-Care is essential for your health and happiness. Also, your dedication to your goals will
inspire your loved ones to live healthier.
